TG has Josefson centering the 4th line. Ruutu must be happy to have a little bit of talent to work with tonight.

How can Larsson play better if he completely lost his confidence. Thanks to the idiot behind the bench. He makes any mistake and his out. How he can he play at all. One game and he's out already. I have no words... I feel bad for the kid. Can not recall any young player with a such potential being treated this way.

Would love to have that Dillon kid in NJ he would be the perfect rock on the back end. With them having Oleksiak I wonder if they would trade Gelinas for him

"he'll need to be better than he has been this season." 12 minutes worth of ice time. wtf has eric gelinas done that's been better, sure hes got a couple assists, but if you're going to talk about larssons season then I assume you're talking preseason as well, where larsson had 2 assists in a 3-0 win against the rangers. sure it's not their full lineup. but please don't insinuate that he has to play better with his opportunities as if he's had so many this season.

but on the Larsson benching, I thought Larsson sucked, but its more detrimental to bench him after every mistake than to let him makes those mistakes. Its not like we're in the final stretch. This is the time to allow growing pains.

Deboer's a (frank)ing idiot, Kulikov said the exact same thing when Deboer coached him. When you teach a kid to be afraid of making a mistake, he'll never have confidence in himself.

You could have said this in a more calm and rational way, but yes I agree with you that he doesn't have much to work with to be better to earn more games.

I don't think Larsson looked that great in the ONE game he has played this season, however I do think he played pretty well in the preseason and didn't warrant being scratched. When they decided that Severson would play they should of made a deal so that Larsson didn't sit period to start the year. Now we continue to hurt his value and he is only going to get worse by not playing. This is a mess and they need to clean it up before it puts us in an unwinnable situation...

It's weird with coaches, they seem to bear down on some kids way harder than others. We see it here with Sven Baertche, who had an excellent preseason & is playing a way better 200 foot game. & he he still can't crack the lineup. Sven is our version of Turris & can be a top 6 forward just needs a change of scenery. I think Larsson for Sven is a match made in heaven for both organizations. Both these kids have high ceilings & both desperate need of change of sceneries & fresh starts on teams that have the organizational needs for the positions they play. Just a thought. Wouldn't have to tweak that trade too much.

i'll be fair in saying Larsson wasn't exactly stellar, but 1 game where he gets less than 4 mins in the 3rd and that's enough to say that he has to do better? seems a little harsh, Todd must be drinking that PDB koolaid and lots of it
